There are many cross-country trails in Copper Harbor and nearby. A local ski club keeps the local trails nicely groomed. The trails wind through forests covered by a blanket of white. Snow-shoeing trails are all around you. With the hilly terrain in the area, there are some challenging trails for those who seek them.
Mount Bohemia, the new and exciting downhill ski area is only minutes away. The hill is for intermediate and expert skiers only. Snow boarders and skiers alike have compared it to out west - lots of powder and steeps. Descriptive words from some of our guests: radical, awesome, killer, extreme.
Snowmobile
We are located on snowmobile trail #3, that goes to the top of Brockway Mountain. This is a 'must see' when you are in the area. The trail is fun and the scenic vistas are breathtaking. Over 250 miles of trails open on December 1 and grooming continues until April 1.
Ice Fish
There are many lakes with abundant fish in the area. Lake Fanny Hooe boasts an abundance of perch, walleye, trout, bass, and splake. Native Spotted trout have been caught in Lake Manganese. Lake Medora is a few minutes away. If the winter is cold enough, the harbor freezes over and fishing commences there too!
Take in the beauty of our scenic roadways. Sit back and relax in your private whirlpool bath. Enjoy a massage at the local wellness center after a day in the Winter Wonderland that is the Keweenaw.

For your comfort and convenience, our motel has an enclosed porch along the front that links the rooms and serves to protect you from the north winter wind while preserving your privacy. It also makes the shedding of winter clothing easy without tracking snow into your room. |
